David started dancing in 2006 and has not looked back since. He has a wealth of experience in Zouk, Salsa, Samba de Gafieria, Cha Cha, Batchata, Salsa Rueda, and has even taken on West Coast Swing...!
David has reached performance level in most of these styles and has attended some of the biggest Latin Dance events in Australia including the Sydney Latin Festival and Brazil Central. David has spent time learning from a long list of well known Zouk, Salsa and West Coast Swing champions including Pasty, Adliio Porto, Mafie Zouker, Max Blacksoul, Jorge Peres, Renata Pecanha, Daniel and Leticia (Zouk); Oliver & Luda, Super Mario, Jamie Jesus (Salsa); Jordan Frisbee, Tatiana Mollman, John Lindo & Jessica Cox (West Coast Swing).
David strongly believes in the importance of the connection and energy between dance partners... "Like a surfer always looking for the perfect wave, when two people are in sync with each other and the music...that’s just an amazing feeling.”
David started dancing later than most, but he sees this as a positive factor in his approach to teaching, as he understands where beginners are coming from and what it takes to make the body do what the mind wants it to!
With his depth of knowledge in Zouk and other styles, Dave loves working with students to perfect their technique, but he also values the importance of having fun with all of his classes!
